When Mr. Gru is announcing his big plan – stealing the moon, he doesn’t announce it right away. Instead, he keeps on, saying, “I have been working on something very big …” which makes his audience, the minions, so curious to know what this big plan really is.
When it’s time to announce it, Mr. Gru used the most powerful tool. He says, “We are going to steal … the moon!” Right after there, it brings the minions into great cheering. Mr. Gru knows, “Pause for effect.” (Did you hear him giving this line? 😉 )
To engage your audience, keep their attention and convey great impact, you have to learn from Mr. Gru:
